One more observation I made was the pathetic situation of Cows in this old Krishna Nagari… All the cows I saw were surviving on packaging paper or newspapers on the road mixed with plastic or foil…. Can’t seem to forget this since last 2 days

Anyway … well written article.. Anuradha Commendable effort… ????????

Aditi, as far as I know, tourists can not go underwater at Dwarka.

That is a lovely co-incidence Neeru. Jayesh keeps me connected to Dwarka. I hope this blog helps him in some way.

I also happened to meet Jayesh bhai Babaria. I went for two days trip to Dwarka from Ahmedabad. I put up in Mercure hotel and it was then that I hired the hotel cab to go around Dwarka and visit places. Jayesh bhai indeed is an interesting person and shared lot of information about all the places wherever he took me. So, next time when I visit Dwarka again, I would love to visit his grandfather at Beyt Dwarka…

The excavation was done for few years. To the best of my knowledge, it was not stopped suddenly. NIO – the organization that did the excavations can be reached. Some of the people involved in the excavations have passed on or retired, so in that sense maybe not. But Dr. S R Rao has documented everything in his book – The Lost city of Dwarka. I have read the book, and I see lack of funds as the only reason for no further excavations.

Is that true? Any updates on this Dwarka excavation?

I am a big fan of the Indian heritage and this was one of the places to visit on my bucket-list. The best part is- your style of writing.
