It is such a famous temple devoted to Krishna. I have visited the temple twice. It is a good destination for the pilgrims as well as those who are keen to learn hindu mythology. It is good for the born travelers to know how to survive in the wilderness with nothing. It will be a help for them in many cases.

This is a fact, you may see this with your own eyes while the annointation ceremony takes place. That ghee offered which turned into butter is given back to you. That has a lot of medicinal properties and has a great healing effect for various diseases, ailments. The trek to there atop, is a challenge. There’s also a stream sprouting. Water comes out from nowhere. Need help, I would give you.

I think the second part of the story is for Udupi Krishna temple, at least that is how I have heard it.

visit to mammiyur only makes the pilgrimage complete fo phala praapthi akin to the bhairo baba temple in vaishno devi and it is believed that guruvayur and mammiyoor is like equivalent to a visit to kashi.

epic part says that when the dwaraka city sank, the world came under water, the statue or idol of lord vishnu floated on earth and settled, stopped in the land of guruvayoor
