The two Narsimha temples, Rudra Narsimha and Keval Narsimha, are much older than the Ramtek Temples. It was built by Queen Prabhavati Gupta who was married to the Vakataka King. She was the daughter of Chandragupta II of the Gupta dynasty. The temples were built in the 5th Cent. CE. There is a plaque having this inscription near the temples.
