i heard arun kr. jaitley is also a saraswat brahmin.
also shyam benegal whose family deity…kul devata is the mangeshi temple of goa although he grew up in hyderabad and later moved 2 mumbai has his ancestral origin from this mangeshi vilage of goa.

lata mangeshkar`s forefathers r said 2 have blonged 2 mangeshi temple / village of goa.
they shifted 2 indore it seems.
all in all a good write-up and a gr8 readin stuff 4 tourists and connoisseurs of temple architecture and related studies of rituals.

Thanks Yogi. Yes, a lot of people on whole of Konkan coast belong to Saraswat community. In fact even Railway minister Suresh Prabhu comes from this community.
