You are the only person who has mentioned the name of Mohd Bin Tughlaq who destroyed this massive and beautiful temple. The destroyers showed the same degree of intricacy in destroying as the builders showed in building. Every religious figure has been carefully chiselled out or if large, hammered out. After destroying also, they couldn’t bear to see the ruins, and so buried most of the ruins under the same ground. The ruins laid buried for 700 years till about 20 years back when the ASI began digging them up and rearranging them haphazardly.

I could have easily gone to Warangal where my fathers elder brother lived when I was young. My age anf physical disabilities with my leg will deny me the pleasure.
