My First blog. An invitation to read and follow.
My First Blog Post – The Invitation
It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living.
I want to know what you ache for, and if u dare to dream of meeting your hearts longing.
It doesn’t interest me how old you are.
I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for dreams, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn’t interest me what planets are squaring your moon.
I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow if you have been opened by life’s betrayals. Or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain! May I know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it. I want to know If you can be with joy mine or your own
If you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you up to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, be realistic, or remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn’t interest me if the story you are telling is true.
I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself.
If you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.
I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore trustworthy.
May I know if you can see beauty even if it’s not pretty every day and if you can source your life from GOD’s presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver moon, ‘Yes !’
It doesn’t interest me, where you live or how much money you have.
I want to know if you will get up after the night of grief and despair, weary, bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done for the children.
It doesn’t interest me who you are, how you came to be here.
I want to know if you will stand at the center of the fire for me and not shrink back.
It doesn’t interest me where or what or with whom you have studied.
I want to know what sustains you from inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself; if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.
Lovely..jus spoke my soul out!
thanx 4 sharin such lovely thoughts:)
A Thought: What is the purpose of living – something definite; but quite hidden. It develops and grows as you nurture it, not through magic (as in lo and behold), but through definite focus. Focus more and you would find it developing even more.
Whatever be the aim, there can be many approches toward its virtuosity; none too easy, but hang on, you are never too late. Never give up, dreams die hard!
I’d suggest you this book: As a man thinketh, by James Allen.
btw, I just happened to be back from a trip to Hampi, and was looking at the different travelogues, and found yours.
wow – that is beautiful

Knowing you Anu, you would have written it!!
And I could not but read and relate to it..
And it brought me the memoirs of the IF poem by Rudyard Kipling…
The only difference is that the poem was from a Father to a SON, and yours was FROM you to a SOULMATE..!!
Being sentimental fool and not making any pretext of the same!!
🙂
Wow… your thoughts wrap my soul and pull me out (from somewhere) and toss me in the free air where I feel the sunshine and the wind and I smile like a child!
Excellent !
It is soul’s voice expressed by words.
Claps ! Claps ! Claps !
🙂
This is not my poem. It was a poem from a book that I was reading then, probably quoted from another book, written by some evolved soul.
So this is where it all started. Did you know then that you will become such an accomplished blogger one day ?
Puru, I had no idea where blogging would lead me, in a way I still do not have much of clarity. But I hope I am blogging with the spirit of my first post, that happened also as a stroke of destiny as this was from a book that I was reading then.
Nice! I am sure any writer can empathize 🙂
Yep, any seeker can…
Simply beautiful!????
I agree, Vishakha 🙂
