Some weekends pass like any other, but some become special because they give us time to relax and enjoy a different place. After many busy weeks, I wanted a short holiday where I could stay close to nature and take a break from the daily routine of my busy life. That is why I planned a visit to Pench National Park, which is a very famous natural destination. I did not need a long vacation because two peaceful days were enough for me to get refreshed.
Weekend Trip to Pench National Park: Safari, Nature & a Relaxing Stay
I visited this national park in November, when the weather was pleasant and comfortable for outdoor activities. The cool mornings and fresh air made it a good time to enjoy the forest and spend time outside.
Before leaving, I hoped to enjoy green surroundings, a comfortable resort stay, good local food, and fresh air. I was also looking forward to going on a Pench jungle safari because I wanted to see wild animals living freely in the forest area. Had no fixed plans for every hour of this trip to Pench. I simply wanted to enjoy each moment, relax, and return to my home with fresh energy and pleasant memories of this place.

Leaving The City Felt Refreshing
The journey started early in the morning from Nagpur while it was still dark outside. The roads were quiet, so the drive was smooth from the beginning. Since it was only a weekend trip, I packed a small travel bag with only the things I needed. As we drove towards the park, I felt more excited because I had been waiting for this trip for several days. At first, we passed busy streets, traffic lights, offices, and shops that looked like every normal working day in the city. After some distance, those busy roads slowly disappeared, and the surroundings began to change.
Soon, open fields, green farms, and small villages became part of the view. Farmers were already working in their fields, and small roadside tea stalls were serving early travellers. Children could be seen walking to school, and local people were beginning their daily work. Watching these simple activities made the journey more enjoyable because they were very different from city life.
As we travelled closer to Pench National Park, the roads became quieter, and the air felt cooler. Tall trees stood on both sides of the road, and small lakes appeared at different places along the way. Birds flew across the sky, and there was much less traffic. Every few kilometres brought a new view, making the drive interesting from start to finish.
When we finally entered the Pench area, the peaceful environment was easy to notice. The green surroundings, clean roads, and slower pace of life helped me forget my daily work even before reaching the resort. At that moment, I felt that choosing this short trip had been the right decision.

The Stay That Set The Mood
After reaching Pench, I checked into the resort before going anywhere else. The entrance looked neat and attractive with green gardens, colourful flowers, and many trees that matched the natural surroundings. Instead of hearing vehicle horns or city noise, I could hear the sounds of the birds from different parts of the property. The peaceful atmosphere immediately made me feel relaxed. The staff of the hotel welcomed us warmly with a refreshing welcome drink and completed the check-in process quickly. Everyone was polite, helpful, and ready to answer any questions that we had.
Once I settled into my room, I decided to walk around the resort before making any other plans. Clean walking paths connected different parts of the property, and comfortable chairs were placed under large trees where guests could sit quietly. Butterflies moved around the flowers, and a cool breeze made the weather pleasant. The resort offered modern facilities without disturbing the natural beauty that is present around it. Every corner looked clean and well maintained, creating a calm environment that never felt crowded.
Instead of rushing to explore nearby places, I spent some time relaxing at the resort. Sitting on the balcony with a hot cup of tea became one of the most peaceful moments of the day. The comfortable room, clean facilities, and friendly service made the stay even more enjoyable. Taking enough rest also prepared me for the next morning because the Pench safari was the part of the trip I was most excited about. The quiet surroundings gave me the perfect start to my visit.
The Safari I Will Not Forget – Pench National Park
The next morning, I woke up before sunrise because the Pench Jungle Safari was the main reason for visiting Pench National Park. After getting ready, I had a light cup of tea and left for the safari gate. Our morning safari started at around 6:00 AM from the Turia Gate, which is one of the popular entry gates of Pench National Park. The weather was cool, and very few vehicles were on the road. When we reached the entry point, many visitors were already waiting with cameras and binoculars. Before the safari began, the forest guide explained the safety rules and shared useful information about the animals, birds, and forest routes. His explanation helped everyone understand how to behave inside the park.

Soon, we entered the forest in an open gypsy vehicle. The driver moved slowly so that everyone could enjoy the surroundings. Tall trees covered both sides of the track, and sunlight slowly reached the ground through the leaves. The guide pointed out fresh animal footprints, broken branches, and marks on tree trunks. He explained how these signs helped forest staff understand where animals had recently moved.
During the safari, we first saw spotted deer peacefully eating grass. A little later, several langurs were sitting on tree branches while young ones played nearby. We also spotted peacocks, colourful birds, and wild boars searching for food close to the bushes. During the safari, we also saw Indian gaur, sambar deer, and a few jackals at different places inside the forest. The guide also pointed out several birds, including crested serpent eagles and Indian rollers. Every animal behaved naturally because the forest was their home.
After some time, the guide asked everyone to remain silent because deer and langurs were making warning calls. Soon, a tiger walked out from the bushes, crossed the road, looked around for a few seconds, and disappeared into the forest again. The sighting lasted only a short time, but seeing a tiger in its natural habitat made the visit to this national park truly unforgettable.

My Evening Outside The Forest
When I came back from my morning safari, I took some rest at the resort before going out again. The day was not yet over, and there was something special about the evening. The sun was gradually sinking into the horizon, and the atmosphere was pleasant. The trees at the resort looked nice, and the soothing environment helped me relax without worrying about anything else except enjoying nature around me. I got myself a hot cup of tea and took time out to breathe in the fresh air of this region.
